Painful and Infected Ingrown Toenail

Ingrown Toenail

TESTIMONY – Wilna injured her toenail, causing the one corner of the nail to tear and brake off.  This developed into an ingrown toenail and an abscess.

She treated the ingrown toenail by lifting the nail corner slightly and inserting cotton between the nail and skin at regular intervals, and treated the infection with Phrasal.  The abscess and infection cleared away over 9 days and the toenail eventually grew out normally.

For Wilna this was a painful experience, but she is glad that she discovered Phrasal as a solution to curb the infection.

REMARKS

You can treat an ingrown toenail at home, but if symptoms aren’t getting better with at-home remedies, see a healthcare provider. The following steps will help to control the infection and pain:

  • Soak the foot in warm water and Epsom salts twice daily.
  • Keep the foot dry the rest of the time.
  • Gently lift the edge of the nail and place some cotton or dental floss between the nail and the skin. Change the pad every day.
  • Use Phrasal or an antibiotic cream to curb infections.
  • Wear roomy shoes or sandals.

BEFORE / AFTER

Do not neglect any nail when you first observe sensitivity at either side. Ingrown nails are common and early treatment may save you a lot of pain.
